AWFUL TRAGEDY IN ST. LOUIS ...
a few abstracts from the Republican:
"About one o'clock the alarm of fire was given....
That it was the work of an incendiary was soon apparent. Several gentlemen who arrived early, after some difficulty forced open the door of the banking house and through the smoke discovered a body......
Mr Jacob Weaver, a young man, a clerk..... who usually slept in the room, immediately in the rear of Mr Pettus' banking room, with Mr Jesse Baker, the clerk....
It is thought that the murderers entered with Weaver and despatched him and Baker, and, failing to get the money they were after, set fire to the building to consume the bodies and hide the hellish deed....
Mr Ansel S. Kimball, first engineer of the Union Fire Company was standing on the sidewalk.....
was caught and crushed beneath the falling mass....
The three young men who came to such an untimely end are said to be very respectable and the sad event has caused much mourning in the city.

MARRIED
On the _____ult. Mr VINCENT RICHARDSON to Miss LYDIA RAWLEY.
On the _____ult. Mr P RICHARDSON to Miss MARY RAWLEY.
On the 31st ult. Mr WM RICHARDSON to Miss ANN RAWLEY.
Accompanying the above notice we received the regular fee. It is rather an unusual
circumstance to see three brothers marry three sisters, as is the case in the above
three notices - the way their progeny will be doubled and twisted is sorter curious.

On the 29th ult. by the Rev. Peter Cartwright,
Wm D, eldest son of Rev.Peter Akers to
Susan E, eldest daughter of Rev. Moses Clampit.
With the above notice we were remembered by the happy couple in a most bounteous manner.
If the cake may be taken as typical of the sweetness of the bride,
lucky is the man of her choice.

DIED
In this city, this morning (July 29)

Samuel McRoberts of the United States Senate -globe
