I'm looking for any information on Andrew Jackson Houston. He was born in Kentucky. He married Nancy Logsdon in Morgan Co., IL in 1832. They moved to Adair Co.,MO. I have the parents of Nancy. I'm trying to find the parents of Andrew. The information I have says he was born in Kentucky.

Looking for will listing children of Rebecca (Dorris) Lister and Joseph Lister both from Sumner County, Tennessee married in 1813 in Sumner County, Tenn. Joseph died 26 Feb 1833 in Scott Co. Ill. Rebecca Lister listed on the 1840 Winchester, Scott Co. Ill. US Fed Census as MRS. Rebecca Lister. Census shows 3 male and 2 female children. Ancestory.com shows names and birth dates but never quotes source. Need source of where childen listed as born to Rebecca and Joseph Lister

I am searching for Moses PASLEY. I believe he died before the 1850 census. He was in Morgan Co. IL in 1820 and 1830. Is there a will for him? Is his wife Elizabeth STANLEY and do they have a son John PASLEY b. 1814 TN? John states in later census records that his parents were born in VA.

I am trying to locate the family of Thomas J. York. I have been unable to tie him to any family in particular. I am now trying to track him to Illinois York families after hitting deadends at what I had hoped may have been a connection to New York state (a William York and John York living at Peru, New York). I believed that Thomas J. York may have come from the Peru, New York area because that is where the Ingersoll family lived prior to their departure for Illinois. It is possible that Thomas J. York came up through Illinois. I have found a William York living in both Pike and Morgan Counties (Illinois) in the 1830 census records; the William York in Morgan County has a son about the right age of Thomas included in the household. I have not been able to tie the Jerome York in Illinois at that time to William York…hoping that Thomas named his sons after other family members. But I am not sure. This is what I know of him: He preferred “T.J.” to “Thomas” and he married Melissa Ingersoll on October 17, 1837 at Plainfield (Will County), Illinois. His children were all born at Plainfield (William Washington - 1842, Jerome Bonaparte – 1844, and Sidney Merion - 1846). T. J. York owned quite a bit of land and helped his father-in-law, Chester Ingersoll, develop the Town of Plainfield. (Chester Ingersoll platted our community in 1834). Thomas J. York and his family left Illinois for California in April 1847 with a delegation of about 40 people, organized by Chester Ingersoll. The York family settled in California but there is reason to believe that Thomas may have gotten caught up in the “free-booter” movement in Central America in the mid- 1860s. I have been unable to locate a death record for him in California. However, I have assembled (and am in the process of adding significant amounts of information to it) a York Family Tree on Ancestry.com (which may be of interest to you). I have a very good record of the family after 1837…but no knowledge of who Thomas J. York was and how he got to Will / Cook County! The ca. 1834-37 Ingersoll-York House in Plainfield still stands and was recently designated as a local landmark. Thanks for any leads anyone can offer.

I am seeking information about my ancestor William Richey (This is in my father's mother's mother's family.) William Richey was born around 1804 in South Carolina and died in the 1880s in Navarro County, Texas. In 1860 William Richey owned a stagecoach inn on the Waco- Corsicana Road near Dawson, Texas. William Richey came to Texas from Illinois in 1837 or 1838. During the Black Hawk War, William Richey (He spelled his last name as Richie when he enlisted.) fought in Captain Allen F. Lindsey's Company, Spy Battalion, Third Brigade Illinois Mounted Volunteers. He served from June 4, 1832 until August 16, 1832. William Richey was living in Morgan County, Illinois at this time. Family tradition says that he swapped horses with Abraham Lincoln during the Black Hawk War. We do not know if William Richey came to Illinois when he was a child or an adult. On November 12, 1837 Wiliam Richey married Mary Lemon née Spence Cannon (She was the widow of Elijah Cannon who died in Illinois.) in Cass County, Illlinois. David Henry died summer of 1846 where? Wife, Margaret Potts died 1861 St. Louis, Mo . She had 5 living children at that time--Nancy Noel & Pauline McSherry of St. Louis, Jesse and John Henry of Morgan Co, Il.; one not named. David Henry a Barton Stone follower, was preaching in Morgan Co., Il & St. Louis, Mo 1840-44 time period.

I am researching my BARBER/HUNTER line. Pleasant B Barber (Barbour) married Judith Hunter on April 3, 1832. Census reports show Pleasant's place of birth as Virginia in abt. 1802. Judith's birth was 1799, and her tombstone says that she was a "Native of Kentucky". Pleasant and Judith named their firstborn son "James Colladon Barber", and for this reason feel that there is a connection of some sort to the Colladon Hunter, father of Edward Hunter that show up in the 1850 census in Morgan County, Illinois. Pleasant and Judith also owned property there, and a copy I have of a land deed, selling land to someone else, has an attachment telling that Judith was removed to a room seperate from her husband and asked if she truly wanted to sell her land. Can anyone help me? How far back do the land records go? How would I go about finding out who owned the land sold before Judith Hunter did? In 1870 there is a William Hastings (b VA) living in Morgan Co, Age 88. My gggrandfather's name is William Hastings, b1819 in VA. While I know a lot about the second William, I don't know anything of his ancestors. Since both were born in VA, I'm curious to know if anyone knows the Morgan Co William's family. Wm (1819) married Juliette Wolfe of Sullivan Co, IL ca. 1845 and moved to Kansas shortly after that.
