All visible traces of this cemetery were erased in 1960 when about 10 or 12 tombstones were removed to Liberty and Asbury cemeteries. The bodies were left interred at the site. Hembrough cemetery is about 1/2 mile east of Liberty Cemetery, adjacent to and on the north side of what is commonly known as Liberty Road. The cemetery site is about 3 1/2 miles west of Jacksonville's Central Park Plaza. Legal description of the site of Hembrough Cemetery is in the extreme southwest corner of Section 15 of Township 15 N Range 11 W.
