Cemetery transcription by members of the Jacksonville
Area
Genealogical and Historical Society
Near the shore of Lake Jacksonville, only four toppled
tombstones
mark the site of this cemetery. They are in the brushy area between the
road and the lake, and are between Asbury Church and the causeway that
is southeast of the church. Legal description of the site of the
cemetery
would place it in the northeast corner of Section 14 Township 14 N
Range
10 W. Although the cemetery is in an area very popular with fishermen
it
is unlikely that very many of them are aware of the tombstones in the
brush
and weeds.
Words in brackets [ ] or parenthesis ( )are not on
stone.
