Cemetery transcription by members of the Jacksonville
Area
Genealogical and Historical Society
The word "cemetery" is not correct terminology in this
case, because only one burial was made here. The burial was made on the
grounds of a brick home that has long since been demolished. The grave
is still there, but was never marked. The house and grave were on the
west
side of the roadway that is commonly known as Black's Lane, a short
distance
east of Jacksonville. Both the house and grave were located on high
ground
a few yards south of the branch or creek that crosses the road. Legal
description
of the site is in the area enclosed in the northwest quarter of the
southeast
quarter of Section 22 in Township 15 N Range 10 W.
