Cemetery transcription by members of the Jacksonville
Area
Genealogical and Historical Society
Believed to have contained three graves, the tombstones and
fence
were removed from this cemetery several years ago. Dr. Alpha B.
Applebee,
the present owner, told the writers that in the days of horse drawn
farm
equipment it was easy to bypass this cemetery. With the introduction of
tractors and other mechanized farm equipment, the cemetery was
gradually
overrun. The fence and stones were removed, but the bodies were not
disinterred.
The cemetery site is about ¾ of a mile north of the intersection
of West Walnut and Finley streets in Jacksonville
