Cemetery transcription by members of the Jacksonville
Area
Genealogical and Historical Society
Located in the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of
Section
4, in Township 13 N, Range 9 W, this little church cemetery is well
maintained.
For many years the Providence Church was located back of the cemetery,
but has been torn down. It is located about four miles southwest of
Franklin,
Morgan County, Illinois. Information has been added from death
certificates
and does not appear on the stone.

1868). Rev. William Haynes was a son of John & Mary Stice Haynes.
That
John Haynes was a son of John & Mary Deane Haynes. And that John
was
a son of Vicar John Haynes (1636-1670) who was born in Hartford, Conn.,
but died in England. Vicar John Haynes was a son of Gov. John Haynes
and
his second wife, Mabel Harlakenden Haynes who
was born in 1614. Gov. Haynes was born on May 1, 1594 at Copford Hall,
Essex, England. He was a governor of Massachusetts Bay colony and
several
times governor of Connecticut. Gov. Haynes died Mary 1, 1653/4 and is
buried
in Hartford, Conn. Gov. Haynes was a son of John Haynes Esquire of
Coddicott,
Hertfordshire, England, who died Nov. 3, 1605. The wife of John Haynes,
Esquire, was Mary Michell Haynes. The father of John Haynes Esquire,

Nicholas Haynes of Hackney, Middlesex, England. The father of Nicholas

J. F. Woodmansee died at his home in Waverly of Bright's disease. He
was
bedfast for many months. He was born in Butler co., Ohio Dec. 24, 1835.
He was a graduate of White River College in Richmond, Indiana, and came
to Macoupin County, Illinois in 1856, settling near Scottville. In 1858
he married Miss Mildred F. Seymour. She died about 1869 and he married
in 1870 Miss Mary A. Givens. He was a sergeant in the Civil War in co.
B of 122nd Illinois Volunteers.)
